You know that with a name like the Planet Smashers these guys are not going to leap at a chance to vacation in Geneva and talk peace. These vicious aliens murdered your friend, they intend to pillage your planet and enslave your fellow humans.

Besides, they're really ugly! You can't wait to take your starship out to meet these ill-begotten space cadets. You can't allow even one Planet Smasher to reach the Earth! Planet Smashers is an exciting vertical scrolling space shooter.

You must expertly maneuver your ship to avoid deadly alien fire. Blast away with speed and accuracy to destroy seven waves of mutant invaders before they get a chance to destroy the Earth! While you do battle with these vicious creatures in their home galaxies, the Earth will have more time to build shields against alien attack.

Begin by commanding the first of your four sleek starships. Without shields, each starship will be destroyed by only one hit from enemy fire, or one collision with an alien craft. Learn to dodge quickly and to protect your starship! The band suffered mishaps like a broken saxophone, multiple van breakdowns, and an issue at the border that prevented Travis from completing the tour. After a few more shows in Montreal the original lineup broke up, with Ceco, Andrew and Travis leaving the band.

The Planet Smashers have continued, with Collyer and Cooper remaining as core members and a series of new members and sidemen. Cooper switched from drums to bass guitar when Tim Doyle joined the band. The band often plays all-ages shows and the playful lyrics and the high energy music has proven popular with teenage listeners.

The band is one of the most popular ska bands in Canada and continues to tour and perform. They continue to play shows bi-monthly limited to the Quebec and Ontario area due to Matt's busy schedule with his children and family. In their ninth studio album, Too Much Information , was released. This is the first album to feature keyboardist Patrizio McLelland and second album to feature trombonist Patrick Taylor.

PLANET SMASHERS Vinyl Records and CDs: Without going off the Punk deep end with blaring, bombastic guitars or overly enthusiastic horn playing, Planet Smashers succeed in creating high energy, punchy Ska. Catchy rhythms float throughout this Canadian Ska-Punk outfit's music.

The Planet Smashers is a self-titled album by The Planet Smashers. It is described in Man vs Ape as 'a perfect definition of third wave punk ska'. AllMusic writer Curtis Zimmermann was less complimentary about the album, saying 'they play about three chords' and their 'mindless frat-boy lyrics' make other ska bands 'look like English professors.
